Editing was not easy and we had to face several issues such as the limit of the available software and the difficulties of respecting the song rhythm the project we had in mind and what we could technically produce.

The shooting took place during the evening, it started at my place where I would film myself while getting ready as I would usually do. Then with only one shot I joined the street and started to take my bike until the actor 2 appeared and stole it.

Then with my teammate with were wondering in the Budapest center and shoot multiple scene from both point of view as illustration of the characters journey.

The result suffered from the lack of good material available in IBS and the night shot didn’t reach our expectations.

The story board 1

The story takes place in Budapest. The actor one gets his bike stolen while he uses it to go somewhere out in the city. Through 2 different point of view the spectator can see the pursuit and the journey of the two characters until they eventually meet in front of a pub.

The next step was to think about an idea, a concept for the video. We came to the choice of a urban pursuit. The song is energetic and can easily be associated with a fast movement and adrenaline visuals.

After discussions we arrived to the conclusion that we would use 2 different points of view and 2 actors. One of the camera would be on one of the actors head and the other safely fixed on the leg of the second actor. As it was proved during the shooting those disposal procured a sensation of velocity and an interesting point of view.

The choice was made made to work from a right free composition. My teammate after having discussing of the choice of the song contacted the author of the chosen song Murdock: blackout vip

The answer came fast and was really encouraging. We had the right of using the song and creating a visual for it. However the artist specified that it should not be used for a commercial purpose.

Work could start!

Our task has been to create a video clip which would illustrate a song that we would have chosen. We started to discuss with my teammate what were our option and how we should deal with the author right. It was a real dilemma, choosing between a song that we knew the right were reserved to the author or his producer or focusing on an open source music production.
